The orchestra is administered by the Thompson Valley Community Orchestral Society, a non-profit organization registered under the BC Societies Act. The orchestra depends largely on the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers to carry out the many behind the scenes tasks that ensure a successful concert performance.
Financially, the orchestra depends on concert revenues and on donations from individuals and businesses, as well as government grants when available. The musicians receive no pay for their services; their reward is in the preparation of quality musical programming to share with the community. Our concert admission charges are modest, in order to make live orchestra performances accessible to as many community members as possible.
Volunteer: There are many opportunities to help, such as being a concert attendant (usher), helping with stage crew and lighting, putting up posters, serving on the Board of Directors, billeting a visiting musician, etc. Please fill out a Feedback Form or contact us by phone at 250-319-8429.
